First-Round Pick:

Trent McDuffie, CB – Washington

The Minnesota Vikings have two major needs entering the 2022 NFL Draft. They need help at corner and on the edge. Thankfully, those are two areas where there is a significant amount of talent available.

Ahmed “Sauce” Gardner is probably on the top of the wish list for most Vikings fans, but he wasn’t available when Minnesota was on the clock. Still, ending up with Trent McDuffie is far from a consolation prize.

McDuffie is a touch on the smaller side for a corner at 5’11 and 193 pounds, but NFL.com has his pro comparison as Packers defender Jaire Alexander based on his aggressive nature and willingness to get physical with receivers.

Not only that, but he is technically sound and plays well in run support, and can bait quarterbacks into bad throws, making him a complete corner who would be able to step in as a day one starter if needed.
