Second-Round Pick:

Nik Bonitto, EDGE – Oklahoma

With a corner selected in Round 1, the Minnesota Vikings are happy to find another player with extremely high potential come to them in Round 2 at a major position of need in the form of Oklahoma edge rusher Nick Bonitto.

Bonitto was a major disruptor in college, improving his sack numbers with each season and nothing double-digit quarterback takedowns in his final two collegiate years. The 6’3, 248-pound linebacker draws comparisons to Vic Beasley on NFL.com.

One of the major benefits of Bonitto is that you can put him on the line and rush him as a defensive end or stand him up and have him rush as a linebacker, making him an interesting fit for the new defensive scheme in Minnesota.

Technically, there is a lot to love about him. His footwork, hand placement, and leverage are well above average and it would make a lot of sense to find ways to get him and Danielle Hunter on the field at the same time.
