Honorable mentions in the 2023 NFL Draft

The list of quarterback prospects goes on and on in 2023. Whether or not it stays that way over the next full season of college football is up to the players themselves but there are some guys to keep an eye on that may not get all of the attention right now.

D.J. Uiagalelei entered the 2021 college season as one of the top prospects for 2023 but had a down year at Clemson as the full-time starter. He has all of the traits in the world and can still be a superstar if he puts it all together. Clemson is going to bounce back with Uiagalelei at the forefront of their season.

Boston College’s Phil Jurkovec caught some steam last season but ultimately decided to return for a final season.  After only playing in six games in 2021, Jurkovec has to prove that he’s capable of jumping to the NFL in 2023.

A fun player to monitor is Texas Tech’s Tyler Shough, a former Oregon Duck who transferred heading into the 2021 season. In 15 career games, Shough has thrown for 2,575 yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

The final honorable mention is Georgia Tech’s Jeff Sims. The Golden Jackets have never been a pass-heavy program but Jeff Sims has changed that since arriving on campus in 2020. He can make plays with both his arms and legs but has some work to do before making the NFL jump. He might be more of a prospect for the 2024 draft or as a developmental player.
