Who are a few players from around the league that the Minnesota Vikings should consider trading for before the start of the 2022 NFL Draft in April?

It took a little bit of time, but the Minnesota Vikings made their first big splash of the 2022 free agency period when they landed former Green Bay Packers pass rusher Za’Darius Smith earlier this week.

Smith was arguably the best in the NFL at pressuring the quarterback in 2019 and the Vikings will be hoping that he can perform at a similar level for them next season.

After the addition of the former Packers linebacker, Minnesota still has plenty of holes on their roster to fill this year. Some of these holes could be taken care of in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, but the Vikings might have to get creative to fix other areas of their roster.

Minnesota still has around $11 million in cap space after the signing of Smith, so that’s not really a ton of cash to go out and land another top free agent. But if the Vikings are looking to add another veteran player this offseason, they could turn their attention to the trade market.

There have already been a ton of trades this offseason and there are likely plenty more to come between now and the end of the draft. When it comes to Minnesota, who are some of the players they could make a deal for before the start of this year’s NFL Draft?
