Third Round (No. 77 overall)

Dylan Parham – G (Memphis)

The Vikings added some bodies to compete at the guard position in free agency but head coach Kevin O’Connell was adamant that it would be an open competition. If that’s the case, Minnesota should look to add another guy to compete for the job and Dylan Parham could be it.

Parham’s biggest strength is his athletic ability. He’s a former tight end and track star and his mobility, quickness, and movement skills were very much on display at the Combine. He was widely praised for his performance in Indianapolis and was on many best of the Combine lists that were put out.

While he’s a hair undersized, Vikings fans shouldn’t be scared off. This cat is plenty strong and once he locks on to a defender he uses that strength and athletic ability to drive them out of the hole.

There has been some talk that Parham could eventually be moved to center, where his smaller frame would be a better fit. He also has spent some time at tackle and that position versatility is huge for the Vikings who are still trying to figure out how this offensive line will ultimately look.

Parham would truly be the best player on the board this late on Day 2. The Vikings would be wise to snap him up as he would be a big upgrade to a longstanding problem on this offense.
