Which franchise records are in danger for the Minnesota Vikings next season?

The Minnesota Vikings have been lucky enough to feature some of the greatest players to ever step foot on an NFL field. From the Purple People Eaters to the ’98 offense, the Vikings have had their fair share of superstars and record-holders.

As they prepare for the 2022 NFL season, can any current players set their sights on a franchise record? Whether they are going after single-season marks or career accolades, the Vikings can witness a bit of history this fall.

There are definitely some records that will probably never be touched, or at least won’t have any competition for a long time. Danielle Hunter‘s injuries likely took him out of the running to catch Carl Eller for the franchise’s sack record any time soon after a fast start to his career.

Randy Moss and Cris Carter have set themselves up for a stronghold on various receiving records, most notably touchdowns, but Justin Jefferson might make an appearance on this list after all.

Defensively, the Vikings do not have any real challengers to any sack, interception, or tackle records heading into the season. Harrison Smith and Eric Kendricks have been excellent players in their own right but they will not be catching Paul Krause or Carl Lee any time soon.
