Jalen Hurts

The situation surrounding Jalen Hurts remains a fascinating one. The Philadelphia Eagles avoided the temptation of entering the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes and have stated on countless occasions this offseason that the former second-round pick out of Oklahoma is their guy in the short and possibly even long term.

However, this might not be so clear-cut. The Eagles recently made a trade of draft picks with the New Orleans Saints that gives them plenty of ammunition in 2023, so if Hurts does not perform up to the required standard, Philadelphia can make their move and get a talented young signal-caller from what promises to be an exceptional class.

If nothing else, this puts Hurts on the hot seat. If he cannot make improvements, then the player might find himself on the trade block this time next year.

This is something that might interest the Minnesota Vikings. Hurts might be a little rough around the edges, but he is electrifying on his day and could really benefit from some outstanding weapons such as Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson in this particular scenario.

Much would depend on the compensation required to bring Hurts on board. But he’d be entering the final year of his deal and if the Eagles are willing to let him go, then it ould be for a bargain price when it’s all said and done.
