4 top prospects who could fall to the Vikings in the 2022 NFL Draft
By Nik Edlund
Travon Walker – EDGE (Georgia)
Travon Walker is a guy who got every single scout who was in attendance at the Combine drooling. The guy is a physical specimen with rare speed and overall athleticism. He tested off the charts and looked extremely explosive and fluid in every drill he took part in.
He definitely looks the part of a prospect who is a lock to go in the top 10 of the draft. However, after further examination, there are some concerns that rise to the surface.
The first and most glaring is just the overall lack of production. One would think a guy with the physical tools that Walker possesses would have eye-popping stats.
Not only that, but playing on a defense that has pieces like Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt, Nakobe Dean, and Lewis Cine should be enough to give even an average player impressive numbers.
Walker also has been knocked for his lack of pass-rushing moves and his overall rawness. Those are definitely some issues that could force a guy to drop on draft day.
If Walker does take a bit of a slide on April 28th and is on the board when the Vikings pick, they’ll need to decide if his positives outweigh his negatives and whether or not pulling the trigger on him is the right way to go.
