4 Vikings offseason moves that aren’t getting talked about enough

Minnesota Vikings re-signed Patrick Peterson
There was some doubt about the future of Patrick Peterson heading into free agency. The former All-Pro performed well overall for during his first season with the Minnesota Vikings, but a new regime could have gone in a different direction despite the lack of depth within the team’s cornerback room currently.
Peterson was made to sweat before re-joining the organization on a one-yar, $3.88 million deal. This represents a solid bit of business for the Vikings and providing there is still something left in the tank, the LSU product could be a key contributor once again.
It would be a surprise if Minnesota didn’t strengthen this unit during the 2022 NFL Draft. Cameron Dantzler continued his encouraging promise as a sophomore, but utilizing their first-rounder on yet another corner cannot be ruled out looking at the current options at their disposal.
Even if the Vikings do take a defensive back early in the draft, having Peterson around to guide them through what can be a difficult transition to the professional ranks will be worth the money alone. If the player can also make a difference on the field, then the better Minnesota’s chances will be.
Cornerbacks do tend to fall off a cliff more than most. But Peterson’s experience should enable him to adjust accordingly and prevent any drastic slip in production from taking place.
