Minnesota Vikings kept Danielle Hunter around

The situation regarding Danielle Hunter was complex and uncertain this offseason. Another frustrating season due to injury left the defensive end’s status in serious doubt – something that reportedly came with some trade interest from other teams across the league.

Fortunately for the Minnesota Vikings, the new regime managed to sit down with Hunter and work out an aggreement. The former third-round pick restructured his contract and judging by some workout videos that surfaced on social media before team activities formally resumed, he is fully focused on making a huge splash in 2022.

Hunter has missed 26 games over the last two seasons. Hopefully these problems are behind him, but the Vikings need to come up with a plan on how to keep the All-Pro fit and firing on all cylinders from start to finish.

The restructure didn’t generate anything like the trade rumor headlines that enveloped Hunter for a brief period. But it’s hard to deny the importance of getting this situation resolved in a positive fashion.

Hunter was arguably the league’s most dominant pass-rushers once upon a time. An injury-free season could see him become a supreme force once again.
