9. Carson Wentz (Washington Commanders)
2021 Stats (in 17 games):
- 9-8 record
- 62.4 completion percentage
- 3,563 passing yards
- 27 touchdowns, 7 interceptions
- 215 rushing yards, 1 touchdown
When just looking at the stat sheet, Carson Wentz had himself an impressive 2021 season as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
Unfortunately for the Colts, the numbers Wentz put up last year didn’t exactly translate to wins. Indianapolis missed the playoffs in 2021 with Wentz as their starter, and earlier this year, they made the decision to trade the veteran passer to the Washington Commanders.
After being traded for the second offseason in a row, Wentz probably isn’t going to have many more chances to be a starter in the NFL if his teams continue to miss the playoffs.
Perhaps a change of scenery will ignite a level of play from Wentz that results in the Commanders winning the NFC East next season. But the Colts thought a change of scenery for the 29-year-old signal-caller was going to result in success for their franchise last season and that was certainly not what ended up happening.
