Which Minnesota Vikings players are lucky to be around after the team gave them another chance this offseason?

Considering how widespread the changes could have been for the Minnesota Vikings with a new head coach and general manager arriving, an emphasis on keeping players around rather than wielding the ax across the board was a calculated risk those in power feel can benefit the organization in 2022 or possibly beyond.

The Vikings have opted for a retooling rather than a complete rest this offseason. Something that could prime them for playoff football once again if everything clicks into place for Kevin O’Connell.

Minnesota will have continuity on the playing side of things, which should help. But there is a new coaching staff coming with a fresh set of ideas and the Vikings’ defense should also be switching to a 3-4 scheme under the guidance of Ed Donatell.

There might be an opening for the Vikings with Davante Adams no longer on the Green Bay Packers. The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions are expected to improve, but neither has the talent Minnesota does from top to bottom, at least for now.

If the Vikings can nail their draft selections, then this will only increase their chances. It would also enable Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to enhance his reputation in league circles after he was chosen as the man to replace Rick Spielman.

Things look promising, albeit precarious to a certain extent. Here are three Vikings players who should consider themselves lucky to be around for this exciting new era.
