Adding the younger brother of Vikings superstar Dalvin Cook would add more chefs to the kitchen in the Vikings’ backfield. James Cook’s third-down pass-catching skillset would complement his brother’s ability to be a workhorse between the tackles.

A focus of the Vikings offense over the years has been to try and get Dalvin Cook the ball in space as a receiver instead of having him just bang between the tackles.

James Cook earned himself an extended role this season and made the most of it. While splitting carries with the bruising Zamir White, Cook served as an all-purpose back – totaling 1,012 yards from scrimmage (728 rushing and 284 receiving).

Cook shares his brother’s one-cut and go ability as a ball carrier, but perhaps is even more talented in the passing game. Should the Vikings decide to draft Cook between rounds 4-6, it would add to their menu of talented skill players.
