Round 3 – Pick 77 overall: Alec Pierce, WR – Cincinnati

The first offensive player comes off the board for the Minnesota Vikings when they select a pass-catcher to add more depth and competition to the roster. Even with Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, K.J. Osborn, and the returning Bisi Johson on the roster, getting more dynamic playmakers is a must.

Alec Pierce isn’t getting a ton of attention this draft, but he should be. The 6’3, 211-pound pass-catcher out of Cincinnati is a special teams player who has the size and ability to be very productive in any NFL offense.

In 36 games for the Bearcats, he caught 106 passes for 1,851 yards and 13 touchdowns. A majority of that stats came from 2021 when he caught 52 passes for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.

With his size and potential, it’s easy to see why NFL.com compares Alec Pierce to Browns receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. They gave him a score of 6.16 and “Good Backup With The Potential To Develop Into Starter” with a Next-Gen Stats grade of 72.
