Vikings acquire A.J. Brown from the Titans

  • Trade:
    • Vikings Get:
      • A.J. Brown – WR
    • Titans Get:
      • 2022 second-round pick (No. 46)
      • 2022 sixth-round pick (No. 191)
      • 2023 second-round pick

Entering his fourth year in the NFL, Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown would like a new contract that pays him closer to what some of the top guys in his position group are currently making.

While the Titans have recently stated that they don’t believe they will be trading Brown before next season, they might be interested in making a deal involving the wide receiver if the right offer comes along.

Since he was selected by Tennessee in the second round of the 2019 draft, Brown has averaged over 60 catches per season, he’s ended two of his three years with the Titans with more than 1,000 receiving yards, and he’s caught a total of 24 touchdowns.

With Kevin O’Connell now the team’s head coach, the Vikings are expected to run an offense similar to what O’Connell ran as the Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator. Which will likely mean that there will be more three-receiver sets, and a trio featuring Brown, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen would be a lethal combination.

At 31-years-old, Thielen is getting closer to the end of his time in the league. So instead of taking a chance on an unproven rookie in this year’s NFL Draft, Minnesota could just make a trade for someone in Brown that has already shown he can make a difference out on the field.
