Peyton Hendershot stepped in at Indiana from the jump and made a sizeable impact in his first two seasons. He caught 52 passes for 622 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore, but suspensions slowed down his 2020 season.

Following an arrest and multiple charges, Hendershot returned to the Hoosiers to pick up just 151 yards in eight games as a junior before he was able to get a larger role as a senior. Now, as he hopes to land in the NFL, Hendershot has to prove himself a bit more on the field while addressing off-field concerns.

He is a longshot to hear his name called on draft weekend, but there are a handful of projectable traits for Hendershot that could allow him to find a spot on a practice squad as a rookie. Hendershot uses his hands as a receiver as opposed to catching with his body and does a solid job of creating after the catch.

However, he is not a speedster or a seam threat that is going to challenge defenses down the field. Hendershot is going to get the bulk of his targets near the line of scrimmage and near the sideline.

The tight end class lacks any true superstars for the Vikings to have their sights set on improving that position in 2022. Still, they can find a handful of role players at the tail end of the draft that could benefit down the line.
