Andrew Booth Jr. – CB (Clemson)

Even though the Minnesota Vikings brought back Patrick Peterson on a one-year deal, the need to draft a potential shutdown cornerback in the 2022 NFL Draft remains high. Cameron Dantzler continues to make encouraging strides, but Jeff Gladney’s release last year means the organization could be willing to use yet another first-round pick to improve things in the secondary.

There should be a ton of gifted players available at No. 12 overall. There is expected to be high demand for edge rushers and offensive tackles in the top-10, which means a cornerback of real quality might just fall into their laps.

Andrew Booth Jr. looks like a top player and should be considered. His agility is absolutely off the charts and the prospect also comes with the necessary instincts to make a real go of things at the next level.

Booth is physical and shows no ill effects from his relative lack of size. His closing burst is absolutely first-class and if the Clemson product can improve his tackling in the pros, someone is going to have a tremendously gifted individual on their hands.

There are far worse ways the Vikings can go. Booth might even evolve into an island corner capable of shutting down one side of the field with further refinement.
