Jordan Davis – DT (Georgia)

This might be seen as a luxury pick by many considering other needs on the Minnesota Vikings. However, the transition to a 3-4 defense makes drafting Jordan Davis a more enticing proposition.

The Georgia product is a freak athlete that is capable of taking over a game at any given moment. Davis was a key cog during the Bulldogs’ memorable national championship triumph in 2021 and has wowed everyone with his exceptional physical attributes at major events such as the NFL Scouting Combine.

Davis appears to be a true NFL nose tackle. He is incredibly difficult to shift off the block with elite strength and can also lend his support to obvious pass-rushing situations when chances come.

Drafting Davis would allow Minnesota to potentially shift Dalvin Tomlinson to a 3-4 defensive end. Something that would significantly enhance their run-stopping prowess and also free up a substantial amount of space on the edge for Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith.

Of all the options on this list, taking Davis at No. 12 overall might be the least likely. But that doesn’t mean the Vikings should entirely dismiss the notion if he makes it out of the top-10.
