Kyle Hamilton – S (Notre Dame)

Yes, the Minnesota Vikings need a cornerback.

But if Kyle Hamilton ends up falling out of the top-10, it is an opportunity that the organization might find too tempting to pass up.

Hamilton is arguably the most gifted player in this draft class. However, a recent report from Tony Pauline from Pro Football Network indicated many around the league believe the safety will fall into the 15-20 range despite his exceptional skill set.

This has everything to do with position importance more than his production. Even though one look at Hamilton’s film during his time at Notre Dame indicates he is much more than just a backend threat.

The prospect has a rare natural instinct to be around the action consistently. His closing speed on the field is absolutely extraordinary at times and when the Fighting Irish needed a big play on defense, Hamilton came up with the goods more often than not.

Minnesota lost Xavier Woods in free agency when he signed for the Carolina Panthers. They do have Harrison Smith, but Hamilton represents an exceptional partner for the All-Pro that could achieve similar feats throughout his career.

This might not be something the Vikings are envisaging with Hamilton. But if he is there, they should not think twice.
