The Minnesota Vikings have plenty of options ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft. But which option will the new regime choose?
After hiring Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, it felt like big changes were coming for the Minnesota Vikings. A roster that had missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons was getting a fresh coat of paint and several fan favorites would be replaced by players with more upside.
Two months later, the Vikings look the same. Kirk Cousins, Danielle Hunter, and Adam Thielen are just some of the notable veterans that were retained. With the new regime entering its first draft, it’s hard to tell whether Adofo-Mensah and O’Connell will keep the same philosophy used by Rick Spielman or put their own spin on draft day.
Judging by Adofo-Mensah’s pre-draft press conference, we should expect the latter.
The Vikings will have plenty of options when they step to the podium with the 12th overall pick. In a class that has less upside than recent drafts, it provides an opportunity to lock in on an elite talent or trade down and accumulate assets for next year’s draft.
Whatever Adofo-Mensah does, it will be interesting. That makes it the perfect time to try and predict what could happen for Minnesota in the 2022 NFL Draft.
