Jack Jones – CB (Arizona State)

Jack Jones is another player who has been linked to the Vikings late in the draft process. They had him in for a visit and it’s not hard to see why. Jones is a ballhawk of a corner who had 10 career interceptions in college.

He doesn’t have great size standing just 5-foot-11 and is on the skinny side weighing just 171 pounds but the guy isn’t afraid to throw his body around. He had 132 total tackles in college showing that he isn’t just a finesse player who lives and dies off of creating turnovers.

The biggest knock on Jones is the concerns about his character. He was booted from USC after becoming academically ineligible and then being arrested for breaking into a restaurant after hours. He spent a year at the JUCO level before transferring to Arizona State.

Minnesota likely brought him to get a better judge about who he truly is as a person and if he is someone they are comfortable investing time and money into. He’s a player who is projected to either go undrafted or be taken late in round seven but could make the team because of those elite ball skills that he possesses.
