Rumors are swirling that the Minnesota Vikings could be interested in trading up in the 2022 NFL Draft for one of two top prospects.
Anything can happen on draft day. Minnesota Vikings fans have seen their team trade up, trade down, and even not make a selection when on the clock at previous drafts. The 2022 NFL Draft should be just as interesting with plenty of surprises possible.
Recently, there have been some rumors starting to swirl about the purple and gold wanting to trade down to acquire more picks. However, there is also a new rumbling that the team could move up for one of two prospects.
According to a recent rumor from Chad Graff of The Athletic shared on Twitter by Adam Patrick of TVA, a move up to the No. 8 overall position from No. 12 isn’t out of the question.
Would the Vikings trading up to No. 8 be smart?
Pass rusher Travon Walker may have been brought in for a visit by Minnesota, but he is a likely candidate to go No. 1 overall to the Jaguars or be selected well before the draft reaches the No. 8 pick.
On the other hand, cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner is a player who might be available at No. 8 if teams prioritize other positions like defensive end or offensive tackle early. His collegiate track record speaks for itself as he projects to be an elite-level defender at the pro level.
If either of these players is available at No. 8 overall, new Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah would be wise to get on the phone with the Atlanta Falcons immediately to inquire about moving into that spot for one of these two insanely talented players.
Keep an eye on the Minnesota Vikings during the 2022 NFL Draft to find out what the team does with their No. 12 overall pick and see which prospects land with which teams to change the future of the franchises forever.
