Second Round (Pick No. 46)

Boye Mafe – EDGE (Minnesota)

Measurements:

  • 6-foot-4
  • 261 pounds

2021 Stats (in 12 games):

  • 34 tackles (10 for a loss)
  • 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Projected by some draft analysts to potentially be selected in the first round this year, the Vikings would get tremendous value if they were to land Boye Mafe in the second round.

Mafe is a very gifted athlete who tested well during the pre-draft process. In addition to testing well, however, he was also productive out on the field during his college career.

Vikings fans should be very familiar with his work already considering he spent his college career right down the road from U.S. Bank Stadium.

Minnesota is currently heading into the 2022 season with Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith as their top two edge rushers, and rightfully so. But adding someone like Mafe to the mix could allow the Vikings’ pass rush to have more of a rotation in 2022 and, hopefully, help improve the chances of keeping both Hunter and Smith healthy.
