Chazz Surratt – LB

Much like Wyatt Davis, Chazz Surratt finds his current spot on Minnesota’s roster in jeopardy due to a selection the team made on Day 2 of this year’s NFL Draft.

This past weekend, the Vikings used a third-round draft pick to add former Oklahoma linebacker Brian Asamoah to their team. Minnesota probably wouldn’t have made the selection of Asamoah if they were confident in Surratt’s abilities as a linebacker.

Surratt is a tremendous athlete, but he’s really still learning how to play linebacker since he converted to the position during the middle of his college career after arriving as a quarterback.

Asamoah is a great athlete as well, but he also spent his entire time at the University of Oklahoma as a linebacker. This should give him an edge on the depth chart over Surratt this year.

Perhaps the Vikings are willing to give Surratt another chance since he’s only been with the team for a season. However, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Minnesota moved on from him now that they have Asamoah on the roster.
