Which Minnesota Vikings players will make the roster in 2022 and who will be standing outside the 53-man roster hoping for another chance?

Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is over and undrafted free agents have been signed, the next step is to get the Minnesota Vikings players together in Eagan, Minnesota to find out who fits this team to make the 53-man roster.

This roster is full of a great mix of youth and experience. Although that is great for a team hoping to be contenders this year, it makes deciding who to keep and who to release from the squad and move forward without.

Let’s take a look at each position grouping of the Vikings and which players have a great chance of making the team this upcoming season.

Quarterbacks (3)

  • Kirk Cousins, Sean Mannion, Kellen Mond

Whether you like Kirk Cousins or not, he will be the man behind center for the start of the season barring any strange incidents. Cousins is an accurate passer that should excel in a new offense under a new head coach and offensive coordinator. Expect him to have another solid season for Minnesota.

Sean Mannion might not be a backup that can be trusted to step in and win a game, but he seems to have a good relationship with Cousins and the team seems to like the idea of having him on deck behind their starter thanks to his work behind the scenes in meetings and practice.

Minnesota could go with two quarterbacks, but the fact they didn’t draft a passer should mean that Kellen Mond will get another chance to prove himself to the new staff. He may be a project passer, but it’s not time to throw in the towel on him quite yet.
