Pro Bowl linebacker Eric Kendricks has returned to the Vikings and will be the centerpiece of Minnesota’s defense once again. His ability to be a good tackler, pass rusher, and drop into coverage makes him extremely valuable.

Minnesota signed Jordan Hicks his offseason to play next to Kendricks in a 3-4 defense. He provides another solid tackling presence in the middle and will be great at limiting big plays on the second line of defense.

Blake Lynch and Troy Dye are two other players that had moments of brilliance in 2021 and have a chance to make the 53-man roster as backups. They can be counted on to step in and play at a high level if needed.

Brian Asamoah is a real wild card. Although he needs time to improve his game as a rookie, he could be a great asset on special teams and be a player that could be used as a hybrid safety and linebacker in a pinch.
