Vikings 53-man roster predictions following the 2022 NFL Draft
By Adam Carlson
Cornerbacks (6)
- Patrick Peterson, Cameron Dantzler, Chandon Sullivan, Andrew Booth, Akayleb Evans, Kris Boyd
Coming into 2022, the corners were the most concerning group on this roster. Minnesota worked hard to fix that, signing Patrick Peterson back to the team to be a starter next to young defensive back Cameron Dantzler to start the season.
Using a second-round draft pick on Andrew Booth gives the Vikings some depth and potential for the future while the signing of Chandon Sullivan replaces Mackensie Alexander as the team’s nickel corner this season.
A pre-draft infatuation with Akayleb Evans by the Vikings means the team likely has a plan for him going forward. It will be interesting to see what those plans are, but he will likely be eased into action over time.
Finally, it comes down to Kris Boyd, Tye Smith, Myles Dorn, or Parry Nickerson for the final spot on the roster. Boyd plays special teams and might provide the best option as a defender, giving him the edge for the 53.
