Keith Millard – DT
Draft Year: 1984
Draft Selection: Pick No. 13 (First Round)
During college at Washington State, Keith Millard was originally supposed to be a tight end. But the school switched Millard over to be a defensive tackle and it certainly turned out to be a great decision.
His switch to the defensive side of the ball went so well at Washington State it resulted in the Vikings using a first-round pick on him during the 1984 NFL Draft.
Millard only started six games as a rookie for Minnesota in 1984, but he still managed to rack up an impressive 11 sacks. During the 1985 season, he became a full-time starter, and in 15 games, he accumulated 10.5 sacks.
Millard ended up remaining with the Vikings for six years. During his tenure with Minnesota, he was a two-time First-Team All-Pro, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, and he was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1989.
