Keeping faith with Garrett Bradbury

After another season littered with inconsistent performances, the Vikings clearly had a big decision to make regarding Garrett Bradbury this offseason. The former first-round pick just hasn’t made the necessary improvements since joining the team, but it appears as if the new regime is willing to give him one more shot at proving he can be their long-term answer at the center position.

Bradbury was a weak link in pass protection in 2021. His communication at the line of scrimmage was suspect, and some discipline problems also emerged, resulting in the North Carolina State product conceding no fewer than eight penalties throughout the campaign.

This is the last chance saloon for Bradbury in Minnesota.

There’s absolutely no doubt about that.

The Vikings all but confirmed this by not triggering his fifth-year option, meaning Bradbury is now heading into the final season of his rookie contract and with a huge urgency to prove his doubters wrong.

Everything seems to be in place on the offensive line beside Bradbury. The Vikings have Brian O’Neill and Christian Darrisaw as their tackle tandem, and the addition of second-round selection Ed Ingram should also improve their fortunes on the interior with a smooth transition.

What comes next is down to Bradbury. Either he rises to the occasion or crumbles under pressure.
