Extremely early Vikings game-by-game 2022 record prediction
By Adam Patrick
Week 9
Washington Commanders (Away)
- Date: Sunday, November 6
- Time: 12 p.m. CT
- TV: FOX
For the first time in his NFL career, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins will be taking the field inside the Washington Commanders’ home stadium as an opponent.
Cousins has faced his old team since he left in 2018 (a win in 2019), but the game took place in Minnesota. This time, the Vikings quarterback will have to play in front of a fan base that rooted for him during the first few years of his pro career.
Unfortunately, Cousins and Minnesota will come up short in this matchup and suffer a surprising loss to an underrated Commanders team.
Prediction: Vikings lose (5-3)
Week 10
Buffalo Bills (Away)
- Date: Sunday, November 13
- Time: 12 p.m. CT
- TV: FOX
This road trip to western New York is expected to be the toughest of the year for the Vikings. Minnesota will be taking on a Bills team that is one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl heading into the 2022 season.
This contest will also be the first meeting between Minnesota and Buffalo since the Vikings traded wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Bills in 2020. Diggs might be a tiny bit motivated to play well against the team that drafted him.
The talent on Buffalo’s roster will just be too much to overcome and it will result in Minnesota losing their fourth game of the season.
Prediction: Vikings lose (5-4)
