Week 13

New York Jets (Home)

  • Date: Sunday, December 4
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: CBS

At this point in the season, the Vikings only have three home games left on their schedule, so they need to take advantage of these specific matchups if they want to earn a spot in the playoffs.

While the Jets appear to actually be making moves that could be putting them on a path to success, they’re probably still a year or two away from being an opponent Minnesota should worry about.

This matchup has “trap game” written all over it, but the Vikings will find a way to escape with a victory over New York.

Prediction: Vikings win (7-5)

Week 14

Detroit Lions (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, December 11
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

When Minnesota traveled to Detroit last season, the Lions were a winless team, and most assumed it was going to be an easy win for the Vikings.

Instead, Detroit pulled off a shocking upset over Minnesota, and it was just another sign that the Vikings needed to make some serious changes in 2022.

This time, Kevin O’Connell will have Minnesota ready to not underestimate the Lions, and it will result in the Vikings adding another win to their record.

Prediction: Vikings win (8-5)
