It gets easier for Cousins and the Vikings after the London trip

With no bye week following their trip overseas, the Vikings may be caught off guard a bit by the Chicago Bears in Week 5. Still, the next four games are a bit easier to manage than that opening stretch. The Bears will be the third divisional opponent in five games to start the season, which could make or break the Vikings’ season.

Their final game before the bye week comes in Week 6 when the Vikings travel down to Miami for a contest with the Dolphins. Miami has made some splashes this offseason and the heat will still be a factor down in the Miami sun.

Cousins will get to go up against one of the better defenses in the league that bolsters one of the better secondaries in the entire NFL. That unit will be a fun matchup to watch against Minnesota’s passing offense and will be a good test for Kirk Cousins to see how he handles that sort of matchup.

Minnesota comes out of the bye with two games against teams trending in the wrong direction with the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders on the docket. The Commanders will have a fun twist given Kirk’s connection and their stout defense, but it’s not a big ticket-seller compared to other games this season.

Following the Commanders, things get very interesting for the Vikings and Kirk Cousins. The next three weeks will be pivotal for their end-of-season success.
