Minnesota Vikings: 5 surprise cut candidates ahead of 2022 season
By Adam Carlson
Bisi Johnson, wide receiver
These days, it’s all about Justin Jefferson. The Minnesota Vikings have some great talent in the wide receiver room including veteran Adam Thielen and the emerging K.J. Osborn, but the depth will make it hard to land a roster spot.
After missing all of last season with a torn ACL tear during practice, the top trio has made fans forget a bit about Bisi Johnson. His 2019 season was promising, catching 31 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns.
The competition will be stiff for Johnson. Ihmir Smith-Marsette, rookie Jordan Nailor, and special teams ace Dan Chisena are all in line for spots on the roster while hungry players like Blake Prohl, Myron Mitchell, and others are hoping for a spot.
Bisi will need to rebound from his injury and play at the level he was showing in 2019 to get a spot on the roster. It will be interesting to see what direction the team takes with their seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
