Kirk Cousins has the same MVP odds in 2022 as Tua Tagovailoa

Heading into the 2022 NFL season, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has the same odds to win MVP as Miami Dolphins signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa.
To no one’s surprise, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is not one of the favorites to win the NFL’s MVP award during the upcoming 2022 season.
Cousins certainly has a chance, but according to WynnBET, his MVP odds definitely aren’t the best in the league right now.
In fact, WynnBET believes that Cousins and Miami Dolphins third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa currently have the same chance to end the 2022 campaign as the NFL’s MVP, giving both passers +4000 odds (40-to-1) to win the award.
Why does Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa have the same MVP odds as Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins?
Last season, Tagovailoa started 12 games for the Dolphins. He completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 2,653 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, in addition to also rushing for 128 yards and three scores.
When comparing Tagovailoa’s production to Cousins’ in 2021, it’s not even fair since the numbers from the Vikings signal-caller are much more impressive. In 16 games last season, Cousins completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
So why does WynnBET have these two quarterbacks with the same MVP odds heading into the 2022 campaign?
Well, it seems like they believe Miami’s addition of superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this year will have a big impact on Tagovailoa’s production next season. Oddsmakers likely feel that the young Dolphins quarterback is also in a better situation with Mike McDaniel now being the team’s head coach.
Leading the way with some of the best MVP odds for the 2022 season are a bunch of the usual suspects like Josh Allen (+600), Patrick Mahomes (+750), Tom Brady (+900), Aaron Rodgers (+1000), and Joe Burrow (+1200).
Vikings running back Dalvin Cook currently has +5000 odds to be the 2022 MVP and the MVP odds for Minnesota wide receiver Justin Jefferson right now are sitting at +7500.
