2. Hiring Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as GM to replace Rick Spielman
Changes were in the air for the Minnesota Vikings from the top down, but there was still some question as to whether or not the team would move on from general manager Rick Spielman or if he would stay on either as a GM or in a different role.
That question was answered rather quickly as Spielman was relieved of his duties and a search started for a new general manager. Minnesota’s search was an interesting one with some unique candidates up for the job, but their decision was made when it was announced Kwesi Adofo-Mensah would take the job.
Adofo-Mensah has a youthful spirit and unique background, unlike anything the Vikings have seen in a GM. This fresh approach has already created some conversation based on his trades at the draft and created a more open atmosphere within the team.
Time will tell if the Minnesota Vikings hired the right person for the job. Taking a new approach to the leadership of the franchise is something worth a try at the very least, but the feel surrounding the team is a a positive one, at least for the time being.
