The first waves of free agency have passed, but what remaining unsigned players could still start for the Minnesota Vikings?
With summer fast approaching, the 2022 Minnesota Vikings roster is mostly complete. We are a month removed from the draft, and the majority of their draft class has officially been signed.
This does not mean the Vikings’ offseason acquisitions have concluded, though. Over The Cap has Minnesota with just over $11 million in cap space, enough to make another move or two.
Last year, around this time, the Vikings made two moves that, at the time, were highly regarded in the signings of Bashaud Breeland and Sheldon Richardson. The former flamed out in dramatic fashion, but the process behind these signings was still solid.
At this point of every offseason, there are still a plethora of veteran free agents available. Oftentimes, they can be signed at a bargain rate as most teams have already used most of their cap space.
While Minnesota’s depth chart looks better now than it did a few months ago, they could certainly still bring in free agents that could immediately slot in with the first team in OTAs and training camp and start Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.
Most of the remaining free agents available would be depth/backup pieces at this point, but here we will look at four current free agents who could start for the Vikings during the 2022 season.
