Jordan Hicks – LB

Anthony Barr’s tenure with the Vikings came to an end this year, and in his place, free-agent linebacker Jordan Hicks was added to the roster.

Hicks has been a full-time starter in the NFL since 2016 and he’s expected to open the 2022 campaign as one of Minnesota’s two starting inside linebackers.

In this year’s NFL Draft, the Vikings decided to use a third-round pick on former Oklahoma linebacker Brian Asamoah. Could Asamoah emerge as a starter for Minnesota in his first season with the team?

If it’s going to happen, he will essentially need to have a lights-out performance during this year’s training camp and preseason. Asamoah will basically have to give Minnesota’s coaching staff no choice other than starting him in 2022.

Hicks has a track record of just being a solid linebacker during his NFL career and he’s actually coming off a 2021 season with the Arizona Cardinals where he beat out a rookie first-rounder for his starting job. Will he be able to do it again this year with the Vikings?
