Tyler Lockett – WR (Seattle Seahawks)
Looking at the Vikings’ offense heading into the 2022 season, the unit is full of weapons. Players like Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, Irv Smith Jr., and Adam Thielen have a great chance to excel in Minnesota’s new offense that is expected to be more centered around the team’s passing attack.
However, the Vikings are still missing a true burner at the wide receiver position. Minnesota adding someone who can stretch the field and take attention away from Jefferson and Thielen could turn the team’s offense into one of the NFL’s best in 2022.
Tyler Lockett is not only an established deep threat with scorching speed, he is also a very good overall wide receiver. In 16 games with the Seahawks last season, Lockett finished with 73 catches for 1,175 yards (16.1 average) and eight touchdowns.
With Seattle heading into a bit of a rebuilding period of time, they might be looking to see what they can get in return for a 29-year-old receiver who has finished with more than 1,050 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons.
If the price to acquire Lockett isn’t outrageous, the Vikings should definitely consider a trade to land the veteran pass-catcher before the start of the 2022 campaign.
