Chase Roullier – C (Washington Commanders)
It’s no secret that Garrett Bradbury hasn’t come anywhere close to reaching the expectations that were given to him when the Vikings selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Bradbury has been a giant weakness in the middle of Minnesota’s offensive line during each of his three seasons with the team. Despite his struggles, he’s currently the only legitimate option the Vikings have at center for the 2022 campaign.
If Minnesota ends up not being satisfied with what they see from Bradbury during their upcoming minicamp, then a trade for a more reliable center might need to be something the team considers before training camp begins in the summer.
Chase Roullier was given the fourth-best grade by PFF among the league’s centers last season, and in 2020, he had the sixth-best grade. Since the 2020 campaign, he’s given up just one sack.
Roullier will be 29-years-old by the start of the 2022 regular season and he’s coming off of a 2021 campaign where he only appeared in eight games after he suffered a broken leg.
If the Commanders have any interest in moving on from Roullier before the start of the 2022 season, the Vikings should be willing to offer almost anything to acquire the veteran center.
Adding Roullier (a native of Burnsville, Minnesota) to their offensive line could make a tremendous difference for the Vikings and it would definitely help them move closer to becoming a championship contender in 2022.
