The Minnesota Vikings currently find themselves with a quarterback they can with, but not because of. Fortunately, this problem is better than the ones they’ve had in the past.

The Minnesota Vikings head into the 2022 NFL season with a precarious situation at the quarterback position.

Minnesota’s new regime, led by head coach Kevin O’Connell and general manager Kwesi-Adofo Mensah, has praised their current starting signal-caller and the young prospect at the position.

Adofo-Mensah has stated how Kirk Cousins is a quarterback you can win with, while O’Connell has praised second-year signal-caller Kellen Mond multiple times this spring.

Fortunately for the Vikings, this is a privileged problem to have. They have a starter they can win with when he is surrounded by the right pieces while also having a young gun waiting in the wings.

This has been far from the case in the past, as Minnesota has experienced an extensive quarterback carousel throughout their history. The following five players served as quarterbacks the Vikings couldn’t win with, or because of, and they stunted the team’s potential success.
