Wyatt Davis – OG

The future of Wyatt Davis in Minnesota certainly isn’t looking that great. A third-round draft pick by the Vikings in 2021, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Davis landed with another team before the start of the 2022 season.

After not spending a single offensive snap on the field as a rookie in 2021, the Vikings didn’t do the young blocker any favors when they added more interior offensive linemen to their roster this offseason.

Veteran offensive lineman Jesse Davis and Chris Reed were signed by Minnesota in free agency and they are both expected to compete to be the team’s starting right guard. Then during the 2022 NFL Draft, the Vikings used a second-round pick on former LSU guard Ed Ingram.

So to even lock down a backup job on Minnesota’s roster, Davis will likely have to perform better than Ingram and Reed or Davis during training camp this summer.

But if the Vikings don’t even think that’s a possibility, they could see if any teams around the NFL have an interest in trading for Davis. He was a two-time All-American during his college career at Ohio State, so there might be at least one team that thinks they can make use of the young offensive lineman.
