Camryn Bynum – S

It’s already begun a little bit during the last few weeks of OTAs, but we’re going to hear a lot about how every Minnesota rookie will have to earn their spot on the team’s roster this year, including the Vikings’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, former Georgia safety Lewis Cine.

But let’s be honest, Minnesota didn’t draft Cine in the first round to sit him on the bench during his rookie season. He’s going to likely end up as a Week 1 starter for the Vikings next season, and if he doesn’t, then that will be a gigantic surprise.

With Cine probably destined to be a starter for Minnesota’s regular-season opener, where does that leave fellow safety Camryn Bynum?

As a rookie with the Vikings in 2021, Bynum displayed some promise out on the field when he was given opportunities to get snaps with the defense. But there was a reason why Minnesota drafted Cine this year and it wasn’t because they wanted to pair him in their secondary with Bynum.

Bynum has the talent to be a starting safety in the NFL and there might be other teams around the league that are aware of this. If the Vikings can get a solid return in a trade package that includes the young safety during the next few weeks, then that’s a deal that they might have to agree to.
