Trae Waynes, CB – First round in 2015

Underappreciated for his time with the Minnesota Vikings, Trae Waynes has seen his career take a massive change of direction since leaving the purple and gold for the orange and black of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Injuries really hurt the former No. 11 overall pick over the last two years. He missed the entirety of the 2020 season with a pectoral injury and followed that up with a hamstring injury in 2021 that sidelined him for several games as well.

A good tackler and decent coverage corner, Waynes will need to prove he can keep healthy in order to get a roster spot. If health wasn’t an issue, he should be on an NFL roster right now, but the fact he’s still available and not making visits is a bit alarming.

It is also alarming that of the six players on this list, three are first or second-round drafted cornerbacks that were drafted under the advisement of the “cornerback whisperer” Mike Zimmer. Sadly, their time in this league might be coming to a close.
