6 former Vikings draft picks who might be done in the NFL
By Adam Carlson
Anthony Barr, LB – First round in 2014
Last year was a great year for Anthony Barr statistically. He had 72 combined tackles, three interceptions, 2.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries. Despite those solid numbers, the former No. 9 overall pick finds himself in the free-agent pool.
Issues surrounding Barr’s multitude of injuries over his career are likely the biggest concern. He has a nagging knee injury that gave him trouble in recent years and even caused him some mental health problems as well.
When healthy, Barr is a very good player around the edges and a highly-athletic defender who can be entrusted to pursue a quarterback, act in run support, or drop into coverage and help out the secondary.
Some expert analysts are still linking Anthony Barr to a team they see as a good fit, but there haven’t been any solid rumors of visits or interest in the former Minnesota Vikings starter. Hopefully, this isn’t the end for Barr.
