Which non-quarterback prospects should the Minnesota Vikings monitor closely next season ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft?

Even though the 2023 NFL Draft is a little less than a year away, the Minnesota Vikings will already be coming up with potential names to keep an eye on during the upcoming college football season. Team scouts and analysts will be examining film and seeing prospects for themselves over the fall, forming their own conclusions before the big selection weekend arrives.

There is renewed optimism surrounding the Vikings in 2022 after Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah came into the fold at the expense of Mike Zimmer and Rick Spielman. Whether this comes with an immediate turnaround in fortunes is unclear, with most of the roster from last season still around despite one or two key departures.

Next year’s class is primarily focused on the quarterbacks, who could be exceptional with further improvements in 2022. Something the Vikings will consider with Kirk Cousins having one year remaining on his deal.

Regardless of which way Minnesota goes, here are five non-quarterback prospects that Minnesota should monitor closely ahead of the 2023 draft.

It would be a big shock if Garrett Bradbury was still on the Vikings in 2023. The new regime appears willing to give the former first-round pick one final chance to prove his worth, but keeping a close eye on some intriguing draft prospects would be wise in case the North Carolina State product fails to meet objectives.

One player that stands out more than most is Olusegun Oluwatimi. The Virginia product is a brute force that could become a solid professional over time, which is something the Vikings will sorely need if Bradbury cannot raise his game accordingly.

Oluwatimi is strong, ruthless, and athletic. The center also boasts outstanding intelligence which is always a highly valued trait at the next level.
