K.J. Osborn came out of nowhere to break out in his second season in the league. Who are some current Minnesota Vikings who could do the same?
K.J. Osborn was a fifth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was seen as a developmental receiving prospect who could provide an immediate impact as both a kick and punt returner.
He was basically handed that role and then struggled mightily. He was shaky catching the football and showed little to no return skills, lacking both wiggle and burst. He was absent as a receiver and many Vikings fans began to slap the bust label on him. In fact, he was seen by most as a long shot to even make the team in 2021.
Osborn then went on and didn’t just defy the odds, he blew them out of the water. The guy had a great camp and it carried over to the regular season as he became an excellent third wide receiver hauling in 50 balls for 655 yards and seven touchdowns.
So now the question is, is there a Viking on the current roster who could come out of nowhere and have a very similar season to what Osborn did in year two. Most of these players were quiet in their first seasons, but some did see some action. One player who was left off this list was Cam Bynum who already showed what kind of player he can be in the limited reps he did see. So here are four Vikings who could be the next K.J. Osborn.
