Daniel Carlson – K (Las Vegas Raiders)

Raiders 2022 Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Moving on from Daniel Carlson after just two games in 2018 has proven to be one of the worst decisions the Vikings made during the Mike Zimmer era. It seemed like the right choice at the time, but Minnesota probably should have been a little more patient with a kicker who they invested a fifth-round draft pick in.

Shortly after the Vikings showed Carlson the door in 2018, he was picked up by the Raiders. All he’s done in the last four years with Las Vegas is develop into one of the best kickers in the NFL and earn a lucrative contract extension from his current team.

Now, are Carlson’s excellent kicking skills going to be what leads Las Vegas to a Super Bowl win next season? Probably not, but it’s hard to determine how successful the Raiders will even be in 2022 as they will be led by new head coach Josh McDaniels.

The last time we saw McDaniels as a head coach, he was running the Denver Broncos into the ground and getting fired before the 2010 campaign even came to a close.

Carlson and the rest of his Las Vegas teammates will be hoping that McDaniels learned what not to do as a head coach from his tenure with the Broncos.
