Case Keenum, quarterback

It’s mind-blowing that the Minnesota Vikings are comfortable with having Sean Mannion be the backup quarterback for another year. Although he seems to have impressed Kirk Cousins and the new staff enough to bring him back to the team, he can’t be counted on to step in and win a game if needed.

One player that didn’t have a problem getting wins when opportunities came up was Case Keenum. When Sam Bradford went down with an injury in 201, Keenum stepped in and had an amazing season, throwing for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Minnesota may have made the right decision by moving on from Keenum and not making him their full-time starter, but there is no denying that he has a little bit of magic in him when he puts on a purple helmet.

Everyone would be much more comfortable with having prime Case Keenum sitting behind Kirk Cousins on the depth chart. Even though Kirk Cousins has been excellent about staying available over the course of his career, anything can happen in the NFL.
