5 dream scenarios for the Minnesota Vikings in 2022

Jefferson secures career numbers
After taking the NFL by storm over his first two years in the league, it’s hard to truly gauge just what the ceiling might be for Justin Jefferson. The Minnesota Vikings struck gold when he fell into their laps during the 2020 draft and any further improvements will likely see him go from an elite wide receiver to the league’s best next season.
This is a lofty bar to aim for. And there is no doubt that Jefferson will become the focal point of opposing defenses despite the presence of running back Dalvin Cook.
However, this is unlikely to prevent Jefferson from making a significant impact from start to finish.
He is just that good.
The former LSU standout’s route-running is nothing short of exceptional and mesmerizes any cornerback unfortunate enough to encounter him across the line of scrimmage. This is matched by outstanding ball skills and an elusiveness that makes Jefferson almost impossible to stop in the open field.
Should the Vikings get career numbers from Jefferson in 2022 – which is entirely possible with an offensive-minded head coach for the first time – then their playoff hopes will increase an untold amount as a result.
The wideout can never be accused of lacking confidence. If Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn also shoulder some of the burdens, this is going to be a fun offense to watch throughout the campaign.
