Who could emerge as potential scapegoats if things go wrong for the Minnesota Vikings in 2022?

There is a real sense of optimism surrounding the Minnesota Vikings and a potential return to the playoffs in 2022. The new regime has done a nice job of keeping core pieces and building around them, which was the best possible avenue to take and especially considering the team’s financial predicament earlier this offseason.

The talent is there and plentiful across the board. Minnesota doesn’t have many weaknesses on its roster, so head coach Kevin O’Connell must mold this group into a cohesive unit capable of genuine progress.

Anything can happen in the NFL and the NFC isn’t nearly as strong as in years past. However, there is also a chance that things take a little longer to trend in the right direction when it’s all said and done.

With this in mind, here are five potential scapegoats if things go wrong for the Vikings in 2022.

Garrett Bradbury would be an easy target if the Vikings failed to meet expectations in 2022. Especially if his own production isn’t up to the required standard.

Minnesota gave Bradbury one final chance to prove his worth as a consistent starter despite not picking up his fifth-year option. Any further failings and he’ll be shown the door.

This is the predicament Bradbury finds himself in. Now it’s up to the North Carolina State product in terms of what comes next.
